Hi all, and happy 14th of February, whatever that means to you :) let’s get right to it!
We are going to be doing some $9 print-to-order overstock prints while supplies last. (As opposed to my last bunch of overstock prints that I made available, these are not pre-printed and you will be able to make your selection from any of my poems.)
Here are the details:
I have a wonderful new sustainable paper supplier called PrintForest. My previous one went out of business during the pandemic (heartbreaking!), but fortunately I am working with a new company that is really fantastic! The paper I am using now for prints may look just a little different than what you’re used to, but I’m really excited about it! It’s 100% recycled, and a beautiful bright white.
That said, my paper supplier sent me a box of paper that was the wrong size. I now have a bunch of beautiful 8.5x11” cardstock that I’d love to put to use! So!
I am now offering print-to-order overstock prints for $9.
This will ensure this paper gets used, and it’ll get you some prints at a really awesome price :) Go place your order here for as many overstock prints as you’d like, and then send an email to torri@notesontheway.com with details on titles and quantities you request. All my available poetry can be browsed in my shop here. Use the filter feature to browse poems by theme!
Hope you enjoy! And now that the business is out of the way, take some deep breaths and scroll down for a little break from all the noise.
Here’s a poem for you. One I might (read: would) write differently if I were writing it today. Take some time to read, breathe, rest with these words. Then, if you have the room for it, let me know what you think, what comes to mind for you as you read.
Stained Glass
Love is infinitely creative,
needs no clean canvas to
do its best work.
Look at the scars of the earth:
the fjords, the falls, the canyons,
once deep wounds in the
skin of our planet now the
best of what we adore.
And the old city with its worn
walls—how many children has it raised?
How many eyes have seen
beauty and history there?
I've never heard a cathedral
complain about the cracks in its side.
So you are gorgeous,
every wrinkle, a riverbed
running rich with living water.
And set strong in the crumbling
architecture of yourself is a
stained glass story, colorful
light filling every groove as
your spirit shines through.
